NBA All-Star Game Draws Escorts To The Region

Print This Post Print This Post

The idea that a sports event draws 50,000 to 100,000 escorts to the host city is absurd.  It’s just the type of info that ‘nonprofit groups’ like to peddle.  While big events mean more people, which means more money, and pro escorts will follow, those numbers are just fantasy.  Read more at NBCDFW.com

Prostitutes Look to Score at All-Star Game: Cops
Dallas police say areas hosting big sports events see influx of prostitutes

By ELLEN GOLDBERG

North Texas is expecting thousands of visitors for the NBA All-Star Weekend, but Dallas police are also making plans to deal with some unwelcome visitors — prostitutes.

“We have been told from other cities that there is going to be an increase in prostitutes,” Lt. Christina Smith said.

A nonprofit group in Phoenix estimates that between 50,000 and 100,000 prostitutes flooded its city during Super Bowl XLII last year. Dallas police said they don’t know what to expect from the All-Star Game.

“I think it’s safe to say we will see some girls that are the traditional street prostitute, and fair to say, we can expect more of the escort-service type of girls,” Smith said.

The department is taking a page from the playbooks of other cities that have hosted high-profile sporting events, such as the NBA All-Star Game.

To prepare, the vice unit is adjusting officers’ schedules and hours so that all hands are on deck next week. Dallas police said they will focus on prostitution hotspots, such as Harry Hines Boulevard, as well as high-end hotels.

Tiger Woods’ ‘group sex’ with prostitutes: Golfer spent tens of thousands on escort girls, claims Hollywood madam
By David Gardner

Tiger Woods was accused last night of spending tens of thousands of pounds on high-priced escort girls when he was away from home playing in golf tournaments.

The shamed golfer reportedly sometimes bedded two at a time, according to a notorious Hollywood madam who claimed she knew he had paid around £37,000 for call girls.

Michelle Braun told the New York Post she sent at least four escorts on pay-for-sex dates with the married father-of-two six times in 2006 and 2007.

‘He liked girl-on-girl. He had sex with them together,’ she said.

The tawdry twist comes as Tiger Woods last night admitted he was a love cheat as he announced he was taking an ‘indefinite break’ from golf.’

British scientist says she penned call-girl blog

A British scientist says she is Belle de Jour, the anonymous blogger whose accounts of life as a call girl were turned into books and a TV series.

Brooke Magnanti was quoted by the Sunday Times as saying she decided to reveal her secret because she was afraid an ex-boyfriend would expose her.

Magnanti, 34, is a child health researcher at the University of Bristol in western England. She told the newspaper she turned to the sex trade in 2003 while finishing her Ph.D. and worked as an escort for more than a year.

She blogged about the experience in the guise of Belle de Jour, a legal secretary who moonlights as a sex worker.

The blog formed the basis of three books and the British TV series “Secret Diary of a Call Girl,” shown on Showtime in the United States.

Debate swirled about whether the anonymous author was real or fictional, and Belle de Jour was accused by some of glamorizing prostitution.

Sunday News obtained a series of communications between Hamilton-based Lewis and the sports star’s wife – who wanted $3000 back from the former naked TV newsreader and celebrity streaker.

“I need you to repay back the money my husband gave you,” the man’s wife said in a text message sent on Tuesday evening.

“I am giving u the chance to do the decent thing first. We have 6 young children to support and we need that money repayed (sic).”

Sunday News agreed not to identify the man – a controversial figure over his sporting career – after his family said the story would affect his children.

Lewis refused to comment, but sources close to the mother-of-one said the sportsman was a regular client over three months and met her for one-hour bookings at a Hamilton motor inn.

Sunday News understands Lewis denies accepting thousands of dollars without providing the man a service. “Because of (the man’s) regular visits this was verification there was no problems with the services provided, hence the continuous re-visits,” Lewis said in a text message to the wife.

Forest Hills woman charged with prostitution in White Plains raid
by Michael Lanza

A Forest Hills woman was arrested last week in an ongoing investigation into a White Plains-based prostitution ring.

The 29-year-old woman was charged with prostitution by Westchester County law enforcement officials last Thursday.

Also arrested were the group’s alleged ringleaders, both of White Plains.

Prosecutors alleged that the duo operated an upscale prostitution business from their homes in White Plains.

The group allegedly recruited, managed and scheduled nearly three dozen women — sending them on calls to various Westchester County hotels. Rates of $600 to $2,000 were charged to the ring’s clients, according to prosecutors.
The White Plains ring advertised its services in various media, including a website which used explicit imagery and language to entice potential clients.

“Our ladies aim to please, ensuring impeccable service with the utmost discretion, while endeavoring to meet and exceed the expectations of our first-class clientele,” the website read. “Our companions look forward to satisfying you. We are committed to providing an excellent and most enjoyable time that will promote the development of long-term relationships and the full GFE (girl friend experience). Tell us what you desire!”

MACKENZIE PHILLIPS WORKED AS PREGNANT PROSTITUTE?

mackenzie-phillipsShamed actress MACKENZIE PHILLIPS once sold her body while she was pregnant to help fund her spiralling drug habit, according to a sensational new tabloid report.

The former child star stunned fans and family last month (Sep09) by going public with news of a 10-year incestuous relationship she had with her late father John, a singer with The Mamas & The Papas.

She details the incident in her new book High on Arrival, but according to a longtime family friend, that’s not all of Phillips’ secrets – she reportedly also worked as a high-class call girl to bring in the cash to pay for her drug habit.

The un-named insider tells the National Enquirer, “There’s a period in her life Mackenzie completely glossed over in her book. Drugs led her down the path to prostitution.

“Mackenzie fell into a friendship with a Hollywood madam and quickly found work as a jet-setting call girl. She was in her late 20s and pregnant with her son Shane.

“She was shooting cocaine and so strung out she couldn’t get work acting or singing, so she connected with a well-known Hollywood madam. Her clients were extremely high-end and extremely discreet. They’d take her on trips to exotic places. She was arm candy for them.

20/20 Scrutinizes ‘Sugar Daddy’ Websites

New Dating Web Sites Bring Sugar Daddies, Babies Together at Last
Proponents Call It a Mutually Beneficial Arrangement, But Others Say It’s Prostitution

By JOHN STOSSEL, CATHERINE BROSSEAU and ANDREW KIRELL

2020logoIn this tough economy, at least one industry is booming: “sugar daddy” dating Web sites.

Some users say they are making tens of thousands of dollars per month, and the work’s not difficult. Critics call it prostitution, but those involved simply call it a mutually beneficial arrangement.

Erin Miller, a 23-year-old, self-described model/actress, uses a dating Web site called SeekingArrangement.com. On her profile, she has advertised herself as looking for a “playful, open relationship with financial benefits.”

“I’m dating four sugar daddies right now,” she said.

She and thousands of other women have found their “sugar daddies” on SeekingArrangement.com, which, in many ways, resembles a traditional dating Web site.

Women can join for free. They post pictures and describe themselves to prospective dates. But there’s an important difference: The women also write how much money they expect in return for dating the men. In Miller’s case, she leaves the amount negotiable, but some “sugar babies” ask for as much as $30,000 a month.

Miller has only been on the Web site for a couple of months, yet she feels as though her life has already changed drastically.

“I’ve been shopping all over, nice cars. I got a new condo,” she said. “Every day is a new adventure.”

One of her sugar daddies lets her use his yacht. He also sends her a Rolls Royce and a chauffeur to take her shopping. Another date pays for her condo, and another gave her a Mercedes.

“Money helps tremendously with happiness, because I would not be happy dating a guy who lived at home in his parents’ basement,” she confessed.

Sugar Daddies, Babies Happy; Critics Say It’s Still Prostitution

Natalie Caplis, a single mother from Montana, was struggling to make ends meet until she made an arrangement that changed her life.

“For me, getting on this site wasn’t about getting a $500 pair of shoes or living this lavish lifestyle. It was really about just feeling secure with my basic needs,” she explained. “I just, for one time, got to breathe. I got to spend time with my son without having to worry about am I going to have the rent paid?”

One sugar daddy helped her get into a better apartment. He also purchased a brand new car for Caplis and her son to use.

Why are the sugar daddies so willing to give?

“You know how many women need help?” asked Gil. “I’m not giving a handout. I’m getting something. I’ve seen women there that actually came out of a magazine. The girl who works for me, you can take her out of a magazine.”

After meeting one woman through Seeking Arrangement, Gil decided to help her out and hire her as his receptionist. He hired another sugar baby to be his personal “entertainment coordinator” for a month.

As part of their arrangement, Gil told her, “For the next month, you’re going to make sure that I have a good life. You make some dinner reservations. We’ll go out, we’ll roll in the sheets.”

Former prosecutor Wendy Murphy said that although the sugar daddy Web sites are legal, if money is exchanged for sex, then that’s a crime.

“I don’t know how you can call it anything but prostitution,” she said.

Self-described “sugar baby” Miller disagreed.

“If someone wants to help me out financially, it’s nobody else’s business,” she said.

Case against ‘Nice Guys’ prostitution ring ready for prosecutors
Investigators say the johns in a major Twin Cities prostitution ring, all business professionals, won’t get any special treatment.

By David Chanen

Since word spread last month that Minneapolis police had shut down the high-dollar prostitution ring whose clients called themselves “The Minnesota Nice Guys,” nearly all of the 30 alleged clients or their attorneys have contacted police to find out how much trouble they’re in or if their involvement could be kept quiet, according to the case’s principal investigators.

Some men sobbed to Sgts. Grant Snyder and Matt Wente that they had a compulsion and had tried to stop. On the flip side, several “providers” or prostitutes also contacted investigators, and Snyder said they all repeated the same points: They found the business degrading and shameful, but needed the money. And they, too, had tried to quit.

The yearlong investigation is now wrapped up, and Snyder said they expect to present the case to the Hennepin County attorney’s office this week.

The investigation focused on John St. Marie, a former assistant Hennepin County attorney who they allege ran the Nice Guys ring. While the county attorney is expected to consider possible felony charges, it’s also possible that a portion of the case could be turned over to the U.S. attorney’s office for consideration of federal charges tied to interstate elements of the prostitution.

“With all the Nice Guys we’ve talked to, we’ve made it clear we can’t predict what might happen to them,” Snyder said. “We knew all the men associated with this group, and we told them a month ago to, ‘Come in and talk to us before we find you.’ “
