NHPD arrests more ‘johns’ in prostitution sting
By Martine Powers
Undercover officers from the New Haven Police Department arrested 10 more “johns” in Fair Haven last Thursday night in the latest in a series of stings aimed at combatting prostitution.
Two of the 10 “johns” — patrons of prostitution — also face narcotics charges after police found them in possession of crack cocaine.
In previous weeks, police arrested 12 “johns” and eight prostitutes in two stings conducted by the NHPD City Spokeswoman Jessica Mayorga said the stings will continue as Chief James Lewis’ new efforts to crack down on the city’s sex industry continue.
