Burbank Hookers, Beware
“The Burbank Police Department will not allow prostitutes and their customers to believe that they can use Burbank as their meeting place.”
By OLSEN EBRIGHT

Police in Burbank have issued a warning to pimps, prostitutes and anyone else benefiting from prostitution-related crimes.

“The Burbank Police Department will not allow prostitutes and their customers to believe that they can use Burbank as their meeting place,” Lt. Armen Dermenjian told the Burbank Leader.

The warning coincides with a beefed-up effort from cops to curb sex trade.

On Feb 23, police arrested three women at the Ramada Burbank Airport Hotel, said Burbank Police Sgt. Robert Quesada. On Feb. 16, a 19-year-old Poway woman and 26-year-old San Diego man were arrested on prostitution-related charges, according to police records.

Other recent incidents include the arrest of two Oakland men at the Extended StayAmerica Los Angeles-Burbank Airport on suspicion of pimping a minor under the age of 16, Quesada told the newspaper.

“We want these people to know that if they’re going to engage in this kind of conduct that the police and citizens won’t put up with it, and we’ll be out there targeting it,” Quesada said. “We don’t want to let them get comfortable.”

Chappaqua resident, 46, charged with prostitution, kept client book
by Marcela Rojas

client bookA longtime Chappaqua resident, who was arrested by an undercover detective for allegedly offering “sensual massage” to “generous gentleman” on Craigslist, stated she charged $200 an hour for sex and kept a book of her male clients, according to the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office.

The D.A.s Office submitted paperwork to New Castle Town Court saying that the woman made a statement on Feb. 19 to a criminal investigator, admitting she began posting ads on Craigslist that “were sexual in nature” after advertising on the site for about a year. The 46-year-old woman posted a photo of herself and requested photos of the men she meets whom she charged $200 an hour for various sex acts as well as “top rate” massages, according to the statement.

The woman, a registered nurse, stated she worked for herself and kept a book of her clients’ first names and telephone numbers near her computer and that she “met men at her house and at hotels occasionally.”

A woman in an affluent New York City suburb has been accused of targeting “upscale men” for prostitution.

New Castle police, who cover Chappaqua, say a 46-year-old woman focused on “upscale men” in ads on Craigslist. Court papers say she offered “sensuous massage” to “generous gentlemen.”

The documents say she was arrested at her home Feb. 19 after she accepted $200 for sex with an undercover officer.

Police Bust Reveals Video Recording System

Police: Prostitute Was Taping Clients in Her Apartment

An undercover prostitution sting on the Northwest Side this week led to the discovery of an elaborate video recording system used to videotape transactions and sex acts between the suspect and her clients, according to police.

A 53-year-old woman was arrested Monday in her apartment in an unincorporated area near O’Hare Airport after Cook County Sheriff’s police investigated an ad on an Internet site, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.

She was charged with prostitution, according to a sheriff’s office spokesman.

The ad promised a “superb authentic oriental rub” by a 28-year-old “beautiful, highly trained and skilled young lady” who “is there to please.” For $180, customers were promised an “all inclusive” “tissue rub” and “a totally relaxing experience” in a “beautiful home, in a relaxing oriental setting,” the release said.

An undercover sheriff’s officer responded to the ad Monday afternoon and once inside, the woman allegedly offered sex for cash, the release said. She briefly left the bedroom for another room, where she had set up a video monitor connected to a camera hidden in the hallway outside her apartment door.

On the monitor, she saw officers outside her door and though she was naked, she nervously returned to the bedroom and tried engaging in conversation with the undercover officer, who placed her under arrest.

Investigation revealed a hidden camera in the public hallway and more cameras in the bedroom, including a pin-sized camera set an Oriental wall fan. Jamming equipment had also been set up to block cell phone or text message transmissions from the apartment, the release said.

All cameras all fed into a kitchen monitor for viewing, and were recording on a system set up in another bedroom. Years’ worth of tapes were found, all showing male customers exchanging cash for sex, the release said. About 30 hours worth of tapes have so far been confiscated, and more tapes had been erased.

Officers are reviewing the tapes for evidence and examining a computer found in the woman’s home. It is illegal in Illinois to videotape a person without their consent or to transmit live video of a person without their consent, the release said.

Police are also trying to determine whether any of the tapes were used to further other criminal activity against the customers.

Cops: Sussex County woman charged $450/hour for sex in Parsippany hotel
BY TEHANI SCHNEIDER

A Sussex County woman who used an alias to solicit sex at a local hotel allegedly offered an undercover Parsippany police officer sexual acts at a rate of $450 an hour, police said.

The 43-year-old woman was charged with promoting prostitution Wednesday following a two-week investigation into alleged activities at the hotel, police said.

Sgt. Yvonne Christiano said the woman worked under the alias ‘Gia Pilazzo’ and police had received four anonymous tips about ‘Pilazzo’ advertising services at the hotel.

“(The tips) named (Gia Pilazzo) specifically,” Christiano said.

Parsippany detectives found a Web site had been established for ‘Pilazzo’s’ clients and ‘Pilazzo’ had occupied a room at the Sierra Suites for 60 of the past 90 days, according to hotel records.

The Web site for ‘Gia Pilazzo’, which was still up and running on Thursday morning, was established this year.

It billed her as a female escort companion in New York and lists her physical traits and preferences for potential clients. ‘Pilazzo’, who said she will be turning 30 in February, calls herself a statuesque blond who is “Southern born, southern bred and NYC raised”, according to the site.

Internet Forum Infiltration Leads to Arrests

Online prostitution forum leads to arrests of 57 people
By The Associated Press

Madison police say they’ve cracked down on the sex trade by infiltrating an online forum popular among customers of prostitutes.

The Wisconsin State Journal reported that officers have arrested 57 people following eight months of monitoring the Web site.

Police Officer Jeff Pharo said he stumbled across the site while investigating a separate tip. He said the site offered updates of which prostitutes were walking the sidewalk, updates that he confirmed by driving by.

So he created a fake profile to establish himself, then began studying the comments of other people in the forum. The information led to dozens of arrests and citations.

Craigslist Leads Boston Cops To Escort

Boston cops follow prostitution trail via Craigslist ad
By O’Ryan Johnson

Another prostitute allegedly peddling her services on Craigslist and working out of a Boston hotel was busted by police in an online sting, authorities said.

The arrest Tuesday of the 25-year-old woman comes just two weeks after cops locked up another woman  in an identical sting at the Westin Copley Place.

The woman – also wanted for defaulting on two prostitution warrants out of Chelsea and Dorchester – was arraigned yesterday on a prostitution charge in Boston Municipal Court. She pleaded not guilty.

A Boston detective posing as a john called a number listed on her advertisement, police said. She allegedly told the undercover cop to call her from the lobby of the hotel – which authorities declined to identify. Once he reached her hotel room, the cop handed her $200 and she began to undress, police said. At that point, cops knocked on the door, and she was arrested.

Cops seized four cell phones, a copy of her ad, and her room rental agreement.

Police are hoping to discourage prostitutes from advertising on Craigslist and other electronic billboards in the wake of the murder last year of Julissa Brisman.

News Flash: Escorts Turn To The Internet!

Hookers are giving up street-walking for web surfing

Police say the world’s oldest profession has gone high-tech. More prostitutes are leaving the street corner and turning to the web.

“What we are seeing is just outright advertisements for sexual services,” Deputy Chief Jaime Ayala of the Arlington, TX, Police Department said.

On one website well-known for its “adult services” advertisements, one out of every five ads in Dallas-Fort Worth originates in Arlington.

“We have received a number of complaints about what appears to be obvious postings of what appears to be prostitution,” Ayala said.

The Arlington Police Department is now launching operation “You Never Know” to fight online solicitation.

Undercover officers will be surfing the web, posing as prostitutes and johns.

“If you respond to an ad or place one, you never know who might be on the other end of the line,” Ayala said.

Police Targeted Suspected Prostitutes, Johns
Fulton County Police Cleaning Up Fulton Industrial Boulevard

By Tony McNary

CBS Atlanta went undercover with the Fulton County Police Department’s Special Operations Unit Friday night.

They were on a mission to clean up Fulton Industrial Boulevard’s reputation for being a haven for prostitution.

“After several years of being tired of this we’ve gotten a new approach. It’s going to be a sustained effort to continue doing this day in and day out,” said Captain Wade Yates.

An undercover officer posed as a “John” and picked up three women who police said offered him sex for money.

Another undercover officer posed as a prostitute. She was on the street less than five minutes before someone tried to solicit her.
